Xumo Box Has Major Flaws, wrong channels, wrong account etc.
I am posting this so everyone is aware. Comcast xumo boxes have major glitches. If it is a reuse box be prepared for a long adventure. The first box I received recognized my account but after setup it showed channels for a completely different region and showed recordings and movie purchases from another persons account. There is no way to sign out of the stream app. I exchange the box for another one, this one won’t show any channels at all and won’t work. This one also shows movies that I did not purchase. Now I am on box 3, this one only shows the free internet channels and shows movies that I did not purchase. I opened several tickets and had tier 2 support. No one at xfinity knows what they are doing. The xfinity retail store employees and manager said all the boxes are reused ones and the warehouse might not be properly resetting them. Xfinity definitely isn’t doing things correctly. The xumo box you get from xfinity is not the same xumo box you can purchase directly from xumo, they have their own firmware and software on it with a completely different remote. I have read similar issues on the internet. Senior management at xfinity needs to fix this issue. This has been a huge waste of my time.

As an update, I purchased my own Xumo box directly from Xumo and it works perfectly. All my channels show up, along with recordings and purchases. Xfinity isn’t clearing their reused boxes properly. Plus the Xumo box you purchase has more settings you can adjust.

Can you use Xfinity stream app on this Xumo box to watch local channels ? If you get a good box ?

I ended up returning the xumo box purchase directly from xumo. In order for my tv to recognize the box I had to constantly turn the box off and on. My tv was not the issue. I ended up buying an Amazon Fire tv stick. FYI Comcast and charter both own xumo. The xumo customer support is horrible. Following in Comcast footsteps.

We also have trouble with a Xumo box purchased from Xumo. It keeps kicking us out of the Xfinity stream app to Xumo play. It is very hard to navigate the menus and the voice remote always takes us to Xumo play even when we have the Xfinity app selected. We have an LG Smart TV and the Xfinity app on that works better than on the Xumo stream box, but I wanted to be able to use voice remote to search in the Xfinity app. We are also Comcast cable subscribers, so I am going back to the X1 box despite the monthly cost.
