Xumo has bluetooth settings but wont allow me to connect

I was forced to upgrade from an xfinity flex box. My flex just stopped working one day and when I spoke to xfinity, I was told that it wasn't supported any longer because they changed over to the xumo boxes. Which is super Irritating because it was working perfectly fine and had been for a very long time but I went along with having them send me the xumo box. Well I got it connected to my home internet and when I attempted to connect my Bluetooth sound system..... I went into the Bluetooth settings of the xumo, it had the option to add a new Bluetooth device..... it was even able to scan for Bluetooth devices and found my soundbar in the list of available devices...... however the [edited: All caps] I swear sometimes it feels like they just want to mess with customers and waste our time, energy, and money!

@user_044ltq Did you put your speakers in pairing mode so the Xumo can connect to them?

@user_044ltq, Hi there! Thanks for reaching out. I can certainly understand the importance of having your Bluetooth speaker working correctly with your new Xumo box. I love having my surround sound working via Bluetooth, so I can relate. You've reached the right place for our team of experts to help over social media. Did putting your Bluetooth speakers in pairing mode help like @DreamSayerZ awesomely suggested?

user_044ltq Thanks for reaching out to us about the bluetooth function of your Xumo box having issues connecting to your soundbar. Is there an error message or anything that is providing information on why the soundbar isn't pairing to the Xumo box?

The Bluetooth speakers in my new MotoMotion sofa also are detected but will not pair with my Xumo box to receive its sound. It detects the sofa speakers then messages “not supported”

I am sorry to hear you're running into that roadblock! It sounds like a fantastic setup with the MotoMotion sofa, and I can certainly understand why you'd want that immersive sound experience through your Xumo box @digitaldoofus.

I recommend trying these steps:

  1. Forget Other Devices: Ensure the sofa is not currently "multipoint" connected to your phone or tablet, as this can block the Xumo from completing the pairing handshake.
  2. Toggle Pair Mode: Put the sofa back into discovery mode after you have already opened the Bluetooth search menu on your Xumo.
  3. Power Cycle: Unplug the Xumo box for 30 seconds and power down the sofa. Once the Xumo reboots, try the discovery process one more time.
