1gig plan giving 400mbps speed

Hi. Newish to Xfinity and recently upgraded plan from 400mbps to 1gig. Xfinity is supposedly delivering 1gig service but my wifi speeds are consistently 300-450mbps according to multiple speed test sites. I'm using Xfinity Gateway XB7 and TPLink mesh wifi which is capable of 1gig. All equipment has been power cycled and rebooted multiple times. Appreciate your assistance.

This turned out to be an Xfinity issue because they never changed anything after I upgraded. It took a lengthy interaction with support to identify that, make technical changes on their end, and reboot my service. My speed still doesn't get near 1000mbps but can stretch at times to get into the 700s.

@user_9m4vy thank you for the follow-up information, when changes are made on the internet the equipment does need to be provisioned for the new speeds to be recognized. This is something I've encountered when assisting customers with speed updates.

I did want to help get the proper expectations set up that actual speeds vary and are not guaranteed. For factors affecting speed you can visit: https://www.xfinity.com/networkmanagement

You would want to have an Ethernet connection to a device to get the most consistent speed.
