2 Home Laptops can't share files after installation of an Xfinity XB* router/modeum

I had an issue with my router at home and replaced it with an XB8, that's all a 1 for 1 switch. All the WIFI worked fine but my 2 Laptops that I always share files with back and forth can't see each other. Nothing else changed except the router and I spoke with 4 employees at Xfinity and none of them can help, it's like they're saying not my fault. Both are on the same network, user ID's and password are built in them and all I did was swap one router for another yet Xfinity says its not their fault and that theres no one there trained to help and this was after talking to some that said they were a level 2 tech.

Good Morning, @user_fm06kq! Thank you so much for taking to the time to reach out to us here on the Xfinity Forums. I am very sorry to hear about the experience with the 2 laptops not being able to see one another. Can you share with us the troubleshooting steps you have completed? Did you forget the network on both devices and connect again? Please let us know.

Did I forget the network, don't know how to do that but I did disconnect both from the network and than reconnected it. Also both computers are still set up sharing just like they have for the past 5 years. I changed nothing except ti swap out the router/modeum.

Besides them not "talking" to each other I also can't print from either one to my network printer which also hasnt changed.

No worries at all, we can run through some troubleshooting steps @user_fm06kq! What is the make/models of the laptops? Is your printer connected to your network and your devices just are unable to see the laptops?

Thank you for the additional information, @user_fm06kq

This issue could be caused by outdated WiFi drivers on your devices. To resolve this, ensure that all WiFi-enabled devices have updated drivers, firmware, and app versions. This is particularly important for devices connecting to newer gateways like the xFi Advanced Gateway (XB7/XB8) or the XB10, which support advanced WiFi technologies. If other devices can connect successfully, check the specific device's drivers that are unable to file share and update them accordingly to ensure compatibility with the new gateway.

Update WiFi drivers and maintain devices to work with your xFi Advanced Gateway (XB7/XB8)

Ok so I followed your instructions to the intel driver & support system and downloaded it and it scanned both laptops. They both needed 1 update, the same one, Intel 11 - 14th generation processor graphics update. I updated them both and rebooted and now everything is working like it used to. Hard for me to believe that a graphics updated could solve the entire problem, I assumed that it was something in the router properties.

Thanks a lot for your help and I hope it keeps working.
