AT&T WIFI calling not working with Xfi modem/router, calls don’t go through or fail outbound

For many years we’ve had great success with AT&T wifi calling on our phones, using a third party Motorola modem with our xfinity service, and third party WIFI router.  No problems, HOURS AND HOURS of calls per day, calls coming in fine, going out fine, no stutter or hiccups.

Since moving to an xfi router (the latest, white one XB7) AT&T WiFi calling SEEMS to activate, shows up on phones, but then within a few minutes and without warning it’s off, and nothing comes in.  Calls inbound fall, never ring and outbound will fail, and IF one can get a call out it often goes out while on the call or incound/outbound audio is interrupted and other party cannot hear call.  Is there some setting on the modem/router gateway that needs to be set/enabled or protocol changed.  Or, should I just move back to our legacy DOCSIS 3.0 modem as it was before?

user_eg4eky Have you tried any troubleshooting from our Xfinity app?

I’ve tried going through some troubleshooting but there really isn’t anything specific to third party carrier WIFI calling failing? Do you have other info that would indicate the app can help Somewhat?

Are you able to provide a timestamp (date and time) where you have experienced this issue on your phone?

I’m having the same problem. With AT&T WiFi calling enabled, incoming calls go straight to voicemail without ringing. Only happens on my home Xfinity network.

@user_jjfogg, hello! Thank you for your comment. Can you try going into your internet settings on the Xfinity App and disabling Advanced Security? I would love to see if this make a different.

I checked this setting on my xFi router and it’s not enabled… the xFI router is really only doing modem connection, and another AP connected to the xFi router via ethernet port is providing all wireless access, and to which all the phones are trying to do their wifi calling connections.  This has worked for 5+ years, but with a different Motorola modem and NOT the xFi modem/router combo.  Is there some other setting IF Advanced Secutiry is NOT enabled that could be causing this issue?

user_eg4eky, WiFi calling with Xfinity Mobile is specifically designed for Xfinity Mobile devices and network. Therefore, if you have an AT&T device, you may not be able to use WiFi calling with an Xfinity Mobile modem. It's recommended to check with AT&T for information on WiFi calling compatibility with their devices and modems.

OK, that’s sound dubious but also somewhat implausible… I mean, it’s a protocol that should be transported and routed regardless of carrier.  Do you really think that WIFI calling from a carrier OTHER than Xfinity (I mean what if it was the PARENT of xFINITY mobile - VERIZON?) is being de-prioritized, depreciated to crippled just because one uses an xFI modem/router?
