can I connect my ethernet cable to any port in the house to access wifi

I work from home and need a hard line ethernet cable to my modem but its downstairs in the kitchen and im upstairs. I have these ethernet ports in each of my room but i wonder can I connect my ethernet cable to any port in the house to access wifi?

Good afternoon @user_ovn9pa. Do you know if those ports are active? Something like this would be beyond our scope to help troubleshoot.

@user_ovn9pa You should have a cable box where all these ethernet cables lead in to. If so, from the back of the router;

Connect 1 router port to the leftmost RJ-45 in that block of 6
Go from room to room until you find the matching end
Repeat for the other ones
Label them as you go until you find the port you want to use.

If I cant find the cable box who should I ask to help me locate it?

user_ovn9pa A lot of times this will be in a utility panel in your home. You can search networking panel or structured wiring to see some images from a search engine in other's homes of what you are looking for. If you live in a rental property you can consult your property manager.
