can xfinity pods relay messages?

With 2 pods can a message flow from the router to pod1 to pod2 to my iphone?  Currently both pods seem to connect directly to the router which limits the distance within which I can use my iphone.  Based on the tests I have done the answer is no but this severely limits the useful range.

user_2674e6, When you say message, are you referring to a text message or just a signal in general? This FAQ link can help with some information regarding our pods.

Signal in general.  I want to extend my wifi range in one direction:

Router------->PodA------->PodB------>MyLaptop/Iphone

However from my testing it seems that every Pod connects directly to the Router:

Router-------->PodA----MyLaptop/Iphone

          I-------->PodB----MyLaptop/Iphone

Which limits extending the maximum range?

user_2674e6 Thank you for explaining the connection ask. The pods create a mesh network, each pod would connect back to the gateway, it would not relay the signal from another pod. I understand your need to expand the network, it may not work out for you, but you can hardwire the pods back to the gateway to help ensure a better signal in your furthest areas.

Thanks, that confirms what I had noticed when testing different pod positions. So how does one hardwire a pod bacxk to the gateway?  Would that be done by coonecting on of the 2 internet cable slots on the pod back to the gateway router? Thanks again

Only their Gen 2 pods support hardwire via ethernet backhaul to the gateway. The Gen1 pods do not.

user_2674e6 Once your Pods are installed and online, you can hardwire your xFi Gateway and/or your devices to your Pods using an Ethernet cable if you so choose.

Does this indicate otherwise ??;

"An adaptive WiFi network that automatically connects your devices to the best possible access point in the home." That is from the Pod FAQ's here: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/xfi-pods-faqs
