Change public IP

Hi, I’m having privacy/security concerns and would like my public IP address refreshed or reassigned. Is that possible?

If you are using a router that has a MAC address cloning feature, you can clone a different MAC address into it. This will force a change of your Comcast assigned WAN / public IP address.

You could also use a VPN service.

I dont have my gateway login so I dont think I can clone a different MAC address into it. It's not on the router from what I can tell. Is there another way to force it?

Hello @user_i2bcbb I see from our Xfinity Forum Expert @EG suggesting you to contact our Comcast Security Assurance Team for help, as we are not able to force a clone.  Did you contact them?

If it is a Comcast-rented gateway device, they do not have a MAC cloning feature.

You could try your luck with the Comcast Security Assurance Team but I doubt that they will change it for you. Call them at 1-888-565-4329 or 1-800-934-6489 and ask for a transfer to them directly.
