Disable public hotspot on gateway provided by my employer

Hello,   my wife works from homa and she has her interenet provided by her company.  Is there any way to have the public wifi hotspot turned off?  I have 3 access points in the house already so my network is getting congested.  It seems that only the public hotspot is broadcasting.  I can't log into the gateway with the usual 10.0.0.1 as it looks like it might be in bridge mode because it assigns the PC an IP address in the 67.xx.xx.xx subnet. Thanks in advance.

@EG I can't do it this way because her employer had the line installed. We don't have access to the account.  I'm wondering if someone in tech support could disable it by MAC address.

mroland_72,

Thank you for the additional information. If the service is provided through your wife's employer and you do not have access to the account, our options may be limited. In most cases, changes to gateway settings, including management of the Xfinity WiFi hotspot feature, would need to be requested by the account owner or authorized user on the account.

While our support teams can review account-specific settings, we're generally unable to make configuration changes based solely on a device MAC address without account authentication and authorization. Since the account belongs to your wife's employer, the best path would be to have your wife's IT department or the authorized account administrator contact us directly to review whether the hotspot can be disabled.

Given that the gateway appears to be managed and is assigning a public IP address, it's possible that additional restrictions have been applied by the account owner or service configuration. Your employer's IT team may be able to provide more insight into how the equipment is set up and what options are available.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions about the setup, and we'll do our best to point you in the right direction.
