Drop outs and slow connection
I just bought a new Motorola MG8702 DOCSIS 3.1 Cable Modem + Wi-Fi Router (High Speed Combo) and even upped my speed with Xfinity from 400mps to 1gig download speed. All I've gotten is dropped connections, slow connections. It's worse than before. What the [Edited: Language] am I paying for...? Xfinity says everything is fine and dandy.

The MG8702 is not compatible with the Gigabit (or higher) speed tier. Comcast rates it at 945 Mbps: https://www.xfinity.com/support/internet/customerowned Scroll down to "See All Modems".
What happens when trying to get speeds that a device is not capable of delivering is that it defaults to using an even slower speed tier configuration file. You need a compatible device, or downgrade your speed plan again.
