Flex Cable Box with Unifi Dream Machine
I am looking to purchase and set up a Unifi Dream Machine and some Unifi APs across my home, but I have a question if my FLEX box that is connected via ethernet will still work being behind the Dream Machine's Firewall and no longer having it's network managed by the xFi gateway?
I am leasing the xFi gateway with the unlimited data option. As of right now the X1 gateway is handling all network traffic and WiFi. I would like to change the gateway into bridge mode and have the Dream Machine machine manage all network traffic. The Flex Box would then be plugged into the Dream Machine via Ethernet cable. Will the FLEX box still work, or does the X1 gateway need to manage the FLEX's network activity to work?
I am hoping to try to find an answer to this before investing in the new network equipment.
Thanks.
