Ford Sync 3 Unable to Connect to XB8

I recently upgraded from SVG2482AC to XB8.  I got 15 devices connected to WiFi, phones, tablets, printers, TVs, oven, car(25 Enclave).  Only one device was repeated failed attempts(21 Mustang).  I called Ford customer service.  They said the new WiFi 6 routers obosoleted the Ford Sync 3.  Check back in October 2026.  Ouch.  No biggie, I can download updates to USB.  Anybody have any luck with Sync 3?  Thanks

2yr-switch Did Ford confirm that the XB6 and up modems made the Ford Sync 3 obsolete?

No confirmation on specific WiFi 6 routers.  He said “WiFi 6 routers” made it “nearly impossible to connect Sync 3”.  He said he just talked to another Sync 3 owner using T Mobile with same issue before I called.  Good news, yesterday, I installed a work around.  I connected a TP Link nano router in AP mode to my XB8 and Sync 3 connected in 1.5 secs.
