Forticlient VPN

My Forticlient VPN disconnects every few minutes only on wifi. Work computer is the only issue. I have reached out to support several times and they are saying to send a tech. 20/1000 people at my company are having the same issue, so I doubt it's something a tech can fix within my home. I am so frustrated. I have split bands, trouble shot with chat several times, updated gateway, drivers, etc with no results.

PLEASE HELP!

user_jgmw1o I also work on a VPN and know how frustrated I would get if it kept disconnecting. Since it's only happening on your work PC and20 other peers at your work are also having the same issue it would be best to reach out to your works IT department to see if they can provide you with any steps for a resolution.

I'm fairly certain this person is working at my company and I manage IT Support.  What we know is that this only happens to Comcast customers and only on wireless.   If we switch to a hotspot, the issue goes away immediately.   Another Comcast customer switched to a competitor and the issue went away, however they were gracious enough to restore the Comcast modem for testing and the issue returned.

What we know:
* Only happens to Comcast customers

* Not affecting all Comcast customers

* Only affects wireless, wired seems fine

* Issue began on 2/20, first thing in morning.

* Happens across all laptop models we have (All HP)

* Happens across various network adapters and current drivers (we also tested rolling drivers back, no change)

* As of yesterday, a couple people were reporting relief but we're still tracking.   Its unclear if this is resolved.

Would these align with any modem/router firmware updates (2/20 and 3/02)?

Thankfully, I'm also a Comcast customer or I would not have been able to respond.   I've been travelling so I can't confirm if I'm affected

user_9oueed Does the same issue occur when not paired to the VPN? Also, while on VPN have you attempted to get the employee to move to a closer source server?

The same issues do not exist not on the VPN. My husband works on a different VPN in the same room less than 5 feet away from me. I can access internet when not on VPN fine-so I can go on this site, but cannot access work systems.

user_jgmw1o, Hi there! Thanks for reaching out and for sharing these details. I can certainly undersand the concern since the same issues do not exist on the VPN.
Since your internet works perfectly when you’re not on the VPN, and your husband’s VPN works fine in the same room, this definitely doesn’t look like a home‑network or WiFi strength issue. This is likely related to how your company’s configuration interacts with certain gateways or WiFi settings. Here is what our team of experts can do over social media. We can check your gateway setup on our end to make sure nothing in the network profile is interfering with the VPN traffic, and we can rule out anything Xfinity‑side quickly. To get started, please send us a direct message with your first/last name and full address. You can start by clicking the "direct message" icon in the upper right page of our forum page. Once you click on that, input our shared handle Xfinity Support to send us a direct message.
