Getting an "Access Denied" message on many websites

Please help.
I can't access certain websites, getting an "Access Denied" message or something similar. This is at the level of my WAN network since I can't access them on any device connected directly to my router.

Tried the following:

  •     Clearing cache & cookies
  •     Allowing third-party cookies
  •     Different browsers including the private/incognito modes. (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Brave)
  •     Different devices on the same network
  •     Restarting modem and router
  •     Leaving modem off for hours to try to force a IP address change. IP did not change.
  •     Replaced modem with a newer model.
  •     Called Xfinity 2nd level support to request a IP address change. Request was denied.
  •     Confirming: I'm not running a VPN or proxy on any device.

Some of the sites I can't access:

https://www.homedepot.com/

https://www.lowes.com/

https://www.hulu.com/

https://www.wellsfargo.com/

https://www.morganstanley.com/

https://www.td.com/us/en/personal-banking

https://www.schwab.com/

"Access Denied / You don't have permission" messages are issued by the destination site, not by Comcast. It's likely the sites or their webhost/network are blocking your public Comcast IP. You can look up your IP at https://www.google.com/search?q=my+IP.

All of these sites are located on Akamai's network. See https://community.akamai.com/customers/s/article/Why-is-Akamai-blocking-me?language=en_US (thanks to @Hemingray42 for finding that page).

It would be a good idea to scan your systems for malware. A person or a program using your Internet service is doing something these Akamai customers don't like.

You'll probably need to ask the sites' admins for help with this.
