Having issues with setting up Moca with the XB7 gateway

Hi, i am currently setting up the screenbeam moca adapters to the xb7 and am receiving no coax signal. My guess to this problem is that 1, the moca is not enabled on the XB7 (I currently do not have access to the gateway login) or 2, a 4 way spiltter that is incompatible with the adapters that is preventing the adapters to communicate with each other. Any suggestions or answers? Thanks.

Locate and look at the labels of any and all splitters. If it says / they say 5-1002 MHz it's not compatible. You need a 5-1675 MHz MoCA compatible splitter(s) such as this one;

Does the splitter have to reach 1675Mhz in order to work? Thanks

Alright, so I just installed a 4 way and 2 2 way splitters all rated 5-1675mhz but it still doesn’t send Ethernet. My guess is that either 1, I need a poe filter or 2 there is an another splitter hidden in the walls somewhere. Any solutions? Also would a poe injector interfere with the moca signal? Thanks

Did you mean POE filter or a Power "injector" ? If it's the former, then not if you put it on the input port of the first splitter off of the drop line coming directly from the street / pole. And are you sure that the MoCA feature is actually enabled in the XB7 ?

so right next to my router there is a ruckus power over Ethernet injector. I am wondering if that is affecting the 2 moca adapters because both of their coax lights are on or blinking fast however there is no Ethernet connection coming into my pc.

@XfinityVictor A DM for what ??? We are in the middle of this.....................

@user_NK2596  A POE injector can't affect MoCA. It's not on the RF / coax system. Check if the MoCA feature is enabled as stated.

Why doesn't anyone follow up with this? I have an XB7 and use multiple MoCA adaptors ... and they work GREAT ... when they work! I have not been able to pin point why the MoCA connection 'stop' working ... could be DHCP lease renewal times, could be gateway reset, or any number of reasons.  I have noticed when the status on the gateway shows MoCA not available, I go to Gateway > Connections > MoCA and it states it is enabled but when you 'save'  you get a message 'Waiting for backend to be fully executed, please be patient...' and then nothing. What this indicates to me that the system is 'doing something' but the code does not have the appropriate error responses to display, or the error recovery is not there, but I do know it would be really great if someone in the Xfinity support world would take a little more interest in addressing this because MoCA is a very viable option for a large house, spread out house, etc. It is FAR better than PODS or even mesh networks with access points at the other end of a MoCA adapter!!

Therefore I am not asking on how to setup or use MoCA, just why is no one making it more 'bullet proof' or at least capable of troubleshooting itself and executing some repair routines like most technology does. I don't see it is an issue with the MoCA adapters (yes you need to make sure splitters, cable connections, and MoCA enabled parts are correct) but the XB7 error handling code could really use some help !!

P.S Yes, you can power cycle the MoCA adapters and reset the gateway and things usually come back up, but that (these days) should be built in instead of manually cruising around flipping switches.
