Hidden Network

Is it possible to have the Hidden Networks disabled on the modem?  We do not want them broadcasting in the house.

The concern is not "Community Center" help related. Topic moved here to the proper help section for assistance.

The hidden networks cannot be manually disabled, unfortunately.

There are 4 hidden networks they run (2 for security system connections and 2 for backhaul connections to neighboring X-Fi units, so when your unit ranges, or your hardline takes a dump, they use the wifi backhaul on your neighbor to connect to the CMTS).  These cannot be disabled, power levels cannot be changed, and channels cannot be managed.  This meets the explicit definition within FCC Rule 15.5 part C, which states: "The operator of a Part 15 device (like a Wi-Fi router) must cease operation of the device if it is found to cause harmful interference and cannot resume operation until the condition causing the interference has been corrected."  Since we as the consumer are partly considered the operator (since we are the site owner), along with Comcast/Xfinity as the controlling programmer of the device, this is a direct and harmful interference operation that must be stopped, by FCC Rules.  Comcast/Xfinity support doesn't even acknowledge the existence of the "Hidden" WiFi channels that their modems produce, not to mention I have measured levels WAY above the legal transmitting levels allowed by the FCC from their modems.

So, any Comcast/Xfinity employee would like to chime in, now is the time.  Why do you not allow owners to control the WiFi modules within your Modem/Router/Wifi units?  This is a direct violation of FCC rules for any site owner.  I'm looking forward to comments.
