Hitron CODA56 Low speed
Hello everyone!
I'm struggling to get the contracted speed from Xfinity using customer-owned modem Hitron CODA56.
The contract speed was 1Gbps, but i'm getting 300 down and up to 100 up.
The support is very limited in their script (please reboot, switch to the higher plan, i have checked everything from my side, it looks good) and can't help at all.
All the possible combinations were performed - tried new cables (coaxial and cat6), hardware reset, and even switching to the higher plan (lol).
Nothing helps.
Here is the info for review:
| HW Version | 1A |
| SW Version | 7.3.5.3.2b1 |
32 channels with modulation 256QAM, signal strenght from 10.900 to 11.900, ration noise from 40.366 to 40.946, low numbers of uncorrectables.
Can anyone suggest some new options to try?

Hi there! We appreciate you sharing everything you have already tried. The CODA56 has a 2.5 Gbps Ethernet port and is capable of supporting your Gigabit plan, so consistently receiving around 300 Mbps is not what we would expect based on the modem model alone.
Are you testing through a separate router or with a computer connected directly to the CODA56? If you have not already done so, disconnect the router and connect a computer directly to the modem using the Cat6 cable. Restart the modem after making that change, confirm the computer’s Ethernet connection negotiated at 1.0 Gbps or 2.5 Gbps, pause any downloads or VPN connection, and run the Xfinity Speed Test. A direct Ethernet test helps remove WiFi, the router, and the testing device’s wireless limitations from the equation.
Please let us know the direct test result and the Ethernet link speed shown by the computer. If it still tops out near 300 Mbps while connected directly, we can narrow the issue down further without repeating the steps you have already completed.
