How do I connect my new Xfinity NOW equipment to the wall?

Hello I moved into my new apartment and I’m trying to connect the equipment to the wall, but it’s not working. The cord they gave me is two ‘pointy’ ends and the one sticking out of the wall is also ‘pointy’ ended. I’m not sure if I have to use the port below that one, but it doesn’t have any place to put the coax (please refer to photos) The property person just told me one is ATT and the other Comcast.

You have two options.  First option is to buy a coax cable connector, a barrel connector that will join two male ends of coax.  Second option is to have a tech come out and run a proper cable and drop.  I would urge you to do the second, as any coupler/splitter causes signal degradation, especially if you have a splitter installed to go to your cable box.  Another reason I would choose to have new line run is that you have no idea how old the cable you have is, and how much it has deteriorated over it's life.  Be aware that you may be charged for the tech visit to install a new cable line, but it will be money well spent.  Please  circle back and let us know what you decide to do.

I would love to have a tech come out but is that an option for Xfinity NOW? I don’t mind paying an extra fee to just get it set up instead of going the first route you mentioned. Do I just call them and ask for a technician to come over?

Yes, you can call and schedule a visit.  The agent you speak with may not understand the situation even if you explain it to them, as they can only discuss what their system tells them to, so stand your ground and tell them that only a technician on site can correct your problem.  Please let us know how it goes.

Be advised that if any wall fishing needs to be done for that new wiring, Comcast techs don't do that. The apartment management / building owner will need to hire a local low-voltage electrician for that. Comcast also uses this company / installer for internal wiring;

I have no idea what that white box is, but have seen the above configuration many times. In most cases, that cable has slack on the inside of the wall, and can be pulled out and attached directly to the modem female end, without using the provided cable. It is essentially the end of the cable that is run from the outside.

The nicer setup is to have a connector installed with a female (threaded) end that the cable attaches to, but I don't think Comcast installs those.

They only install wall plates on a wall that faces the outside by running external wiring on the outside of a building and drilling a hole through from the outside to the inside. They don't do any wall fishing as stated.
