I'm asking for assistance unblocking a VOIP device on ports 5060 and 5061 ...

Those ports are not listed on https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/list-of-blocked-ports. If you are using an Xfinity gateway, you might try temporarily turning off Xfinity CyberSecure (formerly known as xFi Advanced Security) to see if it is causing the problem. See https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/using-xfinity-xfi-advanced-security

Hello @user_6i4bqq, and thanks for reaching out on our Xfinity Community forums.

As @BruceW has already helpfully pointed out, Ports 5060 and 5061 are not included on Xfinity's published list of blocked ports, so they are not generally blocked by the Xfinity network.

It may be helpful to verify with the VoIP device provider whether they require TCP, UDP, or TLS on ports 5060/5061, and whether they can confirm the device is reaching their servers but failing registration, or if the traffic is not reaching them at all. That information can often help narrow down where any issues are occurring.

The Tin Can Kids VOIP device needs outbound TCP and UDP access on ports 5060 and 5061. It also needs outbound UDP ports 10000 through 20000 for call audio, plus MQTT port 8883. Tin Can company reports a lower-than-expected upload speed coming from my end (a properly configured 2.4GHz network). Company says Tin Can internet traffic gets filtered or blocked by ISP after it leaves my home network. Recommends unblocking for domain *tincan.kids.

I'm using CAX30 Netgear cable modem.

Hi @user_6i4bqq.  As previously advised, Xfinity does not list ports 5060 or 5061 or outbound UDP ports 10000 through 20000 among its published list of blocked internet ports.

Since you're using a Netgear CAX30, you may want to contact Netgear to better understand how SIP ALG is configured on that device, as SIP ALG can sometimes interfere with VoIP services because it actively inspects and modifies SIP packets.

Netgear enables SIP ALG by default on many devices, and it is a well-known cause of VoIP registration failures, one-way audio, dropped calls, and issues on SIP ports 5060/5061.  It would also be worthwhile to review any firewall, security, or port forwarding settings on the modem/router to ensure they are not affecting the VoIP traffic.

Additionally, I recommend testing your upload speed along with packet loss, latency, and jitter to help evaluate overall VoIP quality. Even when download and upload speeds appear adequate, packet loss or excessive jitter can impact call registration and audio performance. If the results look healthy and the device is still unable to connect, sharing those findings with Tin Can Kids may help them further isolate the issue.

SIP ALG, security, and port forwarding have been disabled

Download speed is 205.85 Mps / upload speed is 169.35 Mps

No joy.

user_6i4bqq You mentioned wanting the domain unblocked. That does not sound like it would be the issue, but if you check out this support page here, it will show you how you can check if it is being blocked and submit a request to have it unblocked if so.
