How to split wifi network

Why was the option removed to split the 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz bands?  I have found numerous forums that show this option but when I login to my app or online, the option to split is not available.

By the way, I've wasted hours trying to get "support" on this issue and even the tier 2 support doesn't understand why it is not working.

Hi @user_i75nq3

Thank you for reaching out and creating a new post. I hope you are doing well today. I understand you want to split your bands, but you don't see the option on your end. Do you currently have wireless extenders that would need band steering to perform? Can you tell me more about the steps you've taken so far?

We have extenders but unplugged them and still could not separate the bands.  Why is it such a challenge where multiple customer support cannot figure out why it does not work?

If you don't see the 2.4 and 5 GHz WiFi channel settings (i.e., WiFi Mode, Channel Selection, and Channel Mode), it means that these settings are being managed automatically to help optimize your home network and provide the best performance possible. Did you recently change your Xfinity Wireless Gateway for a newer model?
