iAqualink 2.0 won't connect to xfinity router wifi (updated)

My iAqualink 2.0 system will not connect to my xfinity router that I just installed. The iAqualink had no issue connecting to my previous provider's equipment (TWN). I have tried every troubleshooting step I can think of on my own.

I have created a 2.4 Ghz network, that the iAqualink "sees" during configuration, but the xfinity router does not seem to "accept" the iAqualink device.

Does anybody else out there have an iAqualink, and had a similar issue?

* EDIT: So, I finally figured out that the iq20 only connects to "WPA", not "WPA2". So, now this begs the question, can the XB7, on 2.4ghz, be set to WPA security? This setting is greyed out when logged in through the XB7, and "WPA2" is the only choice through the xfinity app.
