Internet Connection Issue
Hi, there. I’m experiencing issues with my internet connection, especially in the mornings when the connection becomes intermittent.
Modem Model
Arris S33
Issue Summary
Multiple occurrences of "Started Unicast Maintenance Ranging - No Response received - T3 time-out" along with "Dynamic Range Window violation" and "RNG-RSP CCAP Commanded Power Exceeds Value Corresponding to the Top of the DRW" errors indicating issues with upstream ranging and power levels.
Primary Issue: Frequent disconnects and degraded internet performance due to upstream communication failures.
Summary of Observed Issues
Type |
Details |
T3 Timeouts |
Unicast Maintenance Ranging - No Response received |
T4 Timeouts |
No Unicast Maintenance opportunities received |
Dynamic Range Violations |
Modem transmit power exceeds or falls below acceptable range |
UCD Errors |
UCD invalid or channel unusable — upstream channel instability |
Profile/Diplexer Errors |
Repeated ignored or failed mode change requests between modem and CMTS |

Ideal Range |
Power |
+8 to +10 dBmV |
–7 to +7 dBmV (optimal) |
SNR |

Errors |
Up to 25,000 uncorrectables per channel |
Should be near zero |
