Internet service disruptions
I'd like to know why Xfinity doesn't have standby generators at their network hubs. I have one at my home and have electricity even when the utility company has electric service disruptions. It is very frustrating that I lose Xfinity internet service because the local utility company has an electric service outage when there are no breaks in Xfinity's service lines/fiber.

We understand how frustrating it is to have power at your home but still lose your internet connection during a utility interruption. Your home generator keeps your equipment powered, but Xfinity service also relies on network equipment located throughout the surrounding area.
Some network facilities have backup power, but that backup may be limited or may not cover every piece of equipment between your home and the larger network. The duration of the utility interruption, equipment damage, safety conditions, and access to local facilities can also affect how long service remains available.
You can monitor the interruption and restoration updates through the Xfinity app or the Xfinity Status Center. We know internet access is especially important during a power disruption, and we appreciate you sharing this feedback.
