Internet Speed Issues

When my router was originally set up it was installed in the basement. The installer said it wasn’t able to be put on the main floor I’m assuming because he didn’t feel like running any wires. The speed in the basement is around 600-700 mbps but that drastically drops going to the main floor being around 200 mbps. Now my problem is being on the 2nd floor with the bedrooms the speed is around 30 mbps. It’s practically a dead zone you can’t do anything besides stream up there. Trying to play any gaming consoles is just constantly lagging out or not even working. Is there any options on making this even workable with extenders or the pods, or do I have to get a tech to move the router to where it originally should’ve been put. I can’t get a hold of a real person to even talk to so maybe forums will work.

@user_37048a Thank you for reaching out via our Xfinity Forums. You can move your equipment as long as that outlet you want to use is active, and the signal there is adequate. The tech may have found that to be the best place in your home due to the status of those other outlets. Here is a link to our xFi pods that may help extend your Wi-Fi into other parts of your home. https://www.xfinity.com/hub/internet/xfi-pods-increase-wifi-coverage
