internet

About once or twice a month, our wifi drops out for always 2 minutes, and around 2 or 3 AM. Our home security system records this. Sometimes our new internet-connected landscape controller permanently loses contact, which is annoying.

It seems like some kind of Xfinity test. Is this true, or what the heck is going on?

Many thanks for some light on this problem.

Thank you for reaching out to us @Edward1064, I noticed you mention this occurs around 2:00 or 3:00 AM. This could be a firmware update being sent to the modem or routine maintenance conducting by our local network team. They typically conduct maintenance and other scheduled repairs around those hours due to low usage. There should be a banner in our Xfinity app a day or two before the scheduled repairs.

We regret to hear this causes your landscape controller to permanently lose contact.

Thank you, that seems quite reasonable. have not seen a banner on your app, so can you look into that? Thanks.

Edward1064, The notification would be the night of the planned maintenance. Do you happen to remember the days you last experienced this?
