MOCA Network Suboptimal Speed

Currently using a XB7 as my modem / primary router with MOCA activated on my second floor. On my first floor, I have a Screenbeam ECB7250 attached to a TP-Link Archer router. When plugged directly into the XB7, I get download speeds of 500-600 mbps. When plugged into the Screenbeam or the TP-Link, I get 100 mbps speeds. Any thoughts as to why? I do have POE filter on the line coming into the home. The only splitter in the home is on the exterior, as the home only has two coaxial cable outlets. Any insight appreciated. Thanks!

FoodServiceChris, hi there! I appreciate you for reaching out on the matter. I am trying to stay on the same page as you. Trying to comprehend your set up, you have the Screenbeam connected to the XB7, and the TP Link connected to the XB7? Or you have it where the TP Link is connected to the Screenbeam?

Upstairs. Street cable —> filter —-> two way splitter —-> Coax wall outlet <—-> XB8 (typo in the first email)

Downstairs. Coax wall outlet —-> Screenbeam ——> Archer in AP mode

i think we may have solved the problem over the weekend however by switching out one of the Ethernet cables. I think I may have been a CAT5, or at least defective in some way, because speeds shot up once I changed cables. The other confounding issue with all this is one of the computers we were speed testing goes through an employer’s VPN. I think that jump is what was throttling one of the connections I was seeing (in addition to the cable).

thank you!
