MoCA setting on XB8 gateway keeps getting enabled which takes down my home network
The MoCA setting on my XB8 gateway is somehow getting enabled which takes down my network until I can disable it. I originally thought this was just a random occurrence, but I now think this has something to do with a setting that is getting pushed to my router when I log into the Xfinity app or log into the gateway's admin web UI (http://10.0.0.1). The reason for this is that the last 5 times this occurred over the 6 weeks or so, it occurred immediately after booting up the Xfinity app on my phone/tablet OR when logging into the admin web UI. This doesn't happen every time I boot up the app, but it happens often enough that I'm now worried every time I boot up the app. It's now happened 2 times in the last 3 days - once when booting up the xFinity app to add new devices to my network and once about 15 mins ago when logging into the gateway web UI to check some device status.
When this issue occurs, my entire home network goes offline. There is no internet connectivity on the WiFi network or wired devices. The gateway is also no longer accessible at all from the internet - per the Xfinity app. The gateway is also not available from my home network - e.g. you can't connect to http://10.0.0.1 which makes fixing this a bit harder (and is impossible from a remote location).
The remedy for this is to disable MoCA, which can only be done via the gateway web UI (http://10.0.0.1), but that is offline. To mitigate this, I first need to disconnect the cat5 cable from the gateway that feeds my MoCA devices. As soon as I unplug that cat5 cable, the home network (WiFI and wired devices) becomes functional - but my MoCA devices are still offline. At this point, I can log into http://10.0.0.1 ->Connection -> MoCA, select Disable, and then click Save (note - this sometimes takes 2-3 attempts to actually save). Once MoCA is disabled, I plug the cat5 cable back in and everything is working as expected. Needless to say, this can only be done when I'm home which is a pain. I had to walk my wife, who knows nothing about any of this, through all of the above steps over the phone a few weeks ago when I inadvertently took down the network by booting the Xfinity app to check on something when I was travelling. Note - the Xfinity app doesn't expose a mechanism to enable/disable MoCA so it's not possible for me to accidently enable MoCA from the app.
I think the issue here is that when MoCA gets enabled, it's creating a loop in the network with my MoCA devices and that takes down the gateway. My devices are all MoCA 2.5 (vs 2.0 XB8) so I've plugged one of them into the 2.5BG port on the XB8 to improve network performance for my MoCA connected devices. Everything works great as long as the gateway's MoCA functionality stays disabled. Does anyone know why this setting keeps getting enabled?
I downloaded the Troubleshooting logs from the gateway from today, since the most recent occurrence of this problem was at 4:57pm today. There were no Event Logs listed.

I'm following up with Xfinity Support in a DM, but but wanted to give an update here as this problem occurred again last night. That makes 3 times in the 6 days.
My network was functioning normally up until around 1/25/2024 10:25pm when I booted the Xfinity app on my phone. The app displayed a blank white screen and seemed hung so I quit and restarted it. This time, the app failed to boot and displayed a "Sorry, That Didn't Go As Planned" (Try Again/Sign Out). At this point, my home network was completely offline. No connectivity for any devices and the WiFi network was offline. I checked the gateway and MoCA had once again been enabled so I disabled it and everything immediately started working again.
I checked the Troubleshooting -> Logs (System Logs) on the gateway and there about 9 pages of entries right around the time of the event. The entries look suspicious to me as they look mostly identical and are specifying bytes sent and bytes received values of MAX INT (2147483647). This looks like an error state of some sort, or maybe a bug in the logging?
Here is a copy of the logs I downloaded from the gateway. Note - the 1st login line was from me logging in to disable MoCA.
