Modem model number equivalency

Apparently, according to emails from Xfinity,I need to upgrade my modem.

I'm looking at purchasing a Netgear CM3000 but the manufacturer REFURBISHED version, a Netgear CM3000-100NAR, no difference in any way other than just being refurbished.

I just want to confirm that it is compatible and will work as a replacement.

RoK_phish Hello! That is a great question. Here is a link that you can use to confirm the third-party modems that will work for our Xfinity services.

@XfinityPeterH,

No worries. When using that link, you would see another option for checking your Device info. After clicking on Device Info, you would enter your address to see what modems are compatible for your location as equipment can vary by address. Please let me know if this helps.

Yes ... that is the same link I viewed prior to my original question to determine that the Netgear CM3000 is in fact compatible.

My question was concerning the compatibility of the FACTORY REFURBISHED version of that same exact modem.

The FACTORY REFURBISHED version is significantly cheaper.

Nothing anywhere I have looked has any answers.

RoK_phish I can't speak for the manufacture of the device or what they do, but from my udnerstanding of refurbished equipment it should be the same.
