Move internet access point to different room

I want to move my cable internet access point to a different room, but I’m not sure how to get connected with a technician.

Is there a coax outlet in that other room, or are you saying that you need / want one installed there ?

There is a coax outlet in the room I want to move it to. However, there is no internet access when I connect my modem and router to that outlet.

Hello @user_584427 We can certainly activate the other outlet for you and schedule a tech. There is a $100 visit charge for that. If you would like to proceed please send us a direct message with your full name and service address.

To send a "Direct Message" to Xfinity Support:
Click "Sign In" if necessary
Click the "Direct Messaging" icon or  https://forums.xfinity.com/direct-messaging
Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there
- As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list
- An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line
Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
Press Enter to send it.

Perhaps that outlet is not connected to a centrally located coax cable splitter somewhere. Can you trace the cable from it to the splitter (if one exists) and reconnect it ? If so, you could save yourself a possible $100 charge.
