Multiple internet outages

Hello

Why have there been so many internet outages in our area recently? Last night was the 3rd outage in 3 weeks. What is going on?
I am trying to convince my mom to change her phone service from the old copper-wired landline phone to VoIP. This is not helping me convince her.

First. When these outages occur, are they being officially indicated here with any info about them ?;

Use a cell phone internet service, a public WiFi hotspot, or a neighbor's internet if you need to in order to check it.

Or you can use the Xfinity App: https://www.xfinity.com/apps

Hello

I cannot access either link when the internet is down. We live in a dead zone and have no cell phone service. We are dependent on our wireless router for our phones to work. So when the internet goes down, not even the Xfinity app will open. I get a text message from the Xfinity assistant saying there is a service disruption in our area and a time it is expected to be resolved but no explanation about what the problem is. And we live in a rural area. No hotspots, no neighbors close enough, etc.

Just wondering why all the outages. We are never given a reason.

user_4esk4p Thanks for reaching out to us here on Forums about recent service interruptions. I would be happy to review any recent service interruption notes, and provide you with any details I can.

Can you send us a direct message with your full name, name of account holder (if different), and service address please?

To send a "Direct Message" to Xfinity Support:

Click "Sign In" if necessary

Click the "Direct Messaging" icon (speech bubble)

Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there

As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list

An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line

Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

Press Enter to send it

Hello, @user_4esk4p sorry for the inconvenience. Have you explored the helpful suggestions @EG proposed? We'd like to know if these were area wide or specific to your residence and then troubleshoot further.
