Need help recovering XB7 Gateway Admin Tool password
Hi Xfinity Support,
I need help accessing the local Admin Tool for my Xfinity XB7 Gateway at 10.0.0.1.
I know this is not my Wi-Fi password. I am trying to log in to the Gateway’s local Admin Tool so I can configure port forwarding.
I don’t know the current Admin Tool username/password. I also tried enabling the “Admin Tool online access” setting in the Xfinity app, but it did not give me a new password or allow me to log in.
My network setup is:
Internet → Xfinity XB7 → Google Nest Wi-Fi → my Windows PC
The XB7 is not in bridge mode, and I need to configure port forwarding on it.
I do not want to factory-reset the XB7, because I don’t want to disrupt the existing network configuration.
Could an Xfinity representative please tell me how I can recover or reset only the local Gateway Admin Tool credentials without factory-resetting the gateway?

If you haven't changed the username and password, use the default credentials: **Username:** admin, **Password:** found on the sticker at the bottom of your Xfinity Gateway.
If you changed the credentials and forgot them, you will need to perform a factory reset to restore the default settings, as there is no other method to recover the Admin Tool credentials. Let us know if you still need assistance.
