Not receiving docsis 3.1

I upgraded from CM600 to a sb8200 however it doesn't seem 3.1 has been pushed to my modem. All lights are Green on the SB8200 and I'm receiving max speed of around 380 on my 1gig plan.

... sb8200 ... receiving max speed of around 380 on my 1gig plan.

The SB8200 is not compatible with Gigabit internet service. Comcast/Xfinity rates it for wired download speeds "up to 957, 936 Mbps, or 934 Mbps" depending on the device version. Follow the "See all modems" link near the bottom of https://www.xfinity.com/support/internet/customerowned, and then under the "Compatible Modems" heading click the Arris list. Using devices on Internet speed tiers for which they are not compatible with tends to produce unexpected results, often speeds well below the ones you are paying for.

AFAIK Comcast/Xfinity has never said how they provision devices operating on speed tiers they're not compatible with. All I can tell you is that many customers who tried it have reported that they don't get full speed. There's a tendency to think the device will operate at the maximum speed it is capable of, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

You need to either get a device compatible with Gigabit, or drop back to a plan speed for which the 8200 is compatible.

Hello, bpath! Thank you for joining the Xfinity Forums community! Before buying your own equipment, remember to use my device info to easily check if your device is approved for Xfinity Internet and/or Voice service. Have you tried uisng the Xfinity app to troubleshoot your speedxd? It works great and is easy to use!

The information provided by @XfinityThomasA above is not accurate. Unfortunately the "... https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/list-of-approved-cable-modems ..." page has been badly out of date ever since the "customerowned" page replaced the "my device info" page.

For instance, the "customerowned" page does not have a "View details" link under device images (details are shown as part of the device image, or as a list below the device model number), and you can't "narrow the search results by using the filters available on the left-hand side of the screen" because there are no filters.

The "list-of-approved-cable-modems" page should be corrected or deleted. The current information is found following the path I described in my post yesterday October 3rd, above.
