Outage--this is ridiculous!

Why is it that my internet keeps going out every week in my area? Like, I work online and I can't keep losing service! It is affecting my job! Why can't service be kept up and running? I don't want to have to register a complaint, but I will.

Hello, @user_yg8huk thank you for reaching out over Xfinity Forums. I work from home myself, so completely understand where you're coming from with relying on your home network to be up and running. We do try to notify in advance if there is any planned maintenance work that may cause interruptions, if you don't have notifications set up you can do so here: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/proactive-outage-notifications

We are in the process of upgrading all our networks, if your notifications mention "upgrade" or "enhancements" this work typically involves making necessary updates to provide faster upload and download speeds, depending on what is currently available. To keep up to date on network upgrades we have site for that: https://www.xfinity.com/network

- When you've experienced the network interruptions, have you by chance checked the Xfinity App or status center: https://www.xfinity.com/support/status

to see if anything reflects there?

Thank you for your reply. Yes, I have the app and use the outage map. My complaint is that this is happening every single week. Like, I understand upgrades and enhancements, but every week? Not to mention that it took over 13 hours for service to be restored from the last snow storm. We had. I get safety and priority, but 13 hours??? I pay good money for my service and I just think this is unacceptable. Once a month, ok. Every week for hours at a time? No.

I definitely know where you're coming from, and believe me we wish the weather wouldn't be as impactful as it can be in situations like this either. Our local teams do as much as they can to get everything back online as soon as they can, but sometimes they can be restricted for their own safety too. Despite this, we always want to make sure properly compensated for any prolonged interruption in the area.

Please check out xfinity.com/support/account-management/credits/outage/details to have your account automatically reviewed for qualifying credit after any verified interruption in the area 👍
