Paying for 1Gbs upload and download but I’m only getting 30Mbs upload

As per the subject, connecting directly to the router with cat 6 cable I only get 30Mps upload speed which is a fraction of what I pay for. Does anyone know why?

Thank you for your reply. I have now tried your Internet Troubleshooting Tips but I have still have uploads always less than 30Mbs. I am connected directly to my modem with a cat 6 cable and the modem is capable of 129Mbps upload.

Could you tell me what upload speed I should be seeing given my plan?
