Power not working

I came home from visiting my in-laws for Labor Day weekend, and I went to do my college homework, but I soon realized that I have a powered-off modem. I have tried my own troubleshooting with the modem; I have tried unplugging it and plugging it back in, but it still does not turn on. I tried checking the cables, to no avail. I then tried to see if the outlet is bad; I plugged a lamp into the same outlet, and the lamp turns on fine. So it comes down to the modem, do I get a new one or have a tech guy come check it out.

user_gyikns Thank you for stopping in for help with your modem not working/powering on. That is odd. If you have already checked the outlet and the modem connections and do not see any obvious issues, I would recommend a technician to ensure there are no other issues. That, of course, could take a few days. You could also stop into any Xfinity store location near you to swap out the modem. I just let customers know that if they do a swap and the equipment isn't the issue and a tech is still needed afterward, there will be a fee. If you check out store locations on our store locator tool.
