Recently "Downgraded" to the new an improved XB8. Can I get my Old WORKING equipment back????

Have had nothing but trouble with this thing since it arrived. Comcast expected me to install it using cellular but I have no signal and rely on WiFi calling. They then went a step further and disabled my old equipment so I had to drive up to the store to contact them.  So this thing is finally running and has 6g, so what would prefer it just worked.  Constantly drops connection. (Can frequently see a popup on my screen saying internet connection has been restored) My printer will connect after resetting everything but only for a little while and then it cant be found again. Says offline....  Thought maybe signal was weak so I got an extender and set that up. Have 2.4ghz split from the 5ghz and 6ghz so pc, extender and printer all connect to the same ssid and 2.4ghz.  Have factory reset the XB8 and my printer and cleared all wifi on my PC.  Tired of jumping through hoops to try and get this stuff to connect for a few minutes.  Please send my old equipment that worked back to me!!!!   Thanks

The Printer and the new XB8 just do not get along. I have tried every combination / reset/ upgrade of Firmware and software and still didn't work.

Took me a while but I came up with the brilliant idea to try a Hotspot from my laptop to the printer. Wi-Fi stays connected and prints no problem now. This indicates to me that the issue was the XB8 as in no problem before with the old equipment.

1 issue with hotspot is that Win 11 turns it off every time you restart. If anyone needs help I can tell you how to set up Task Scheduler with a PowerShell script that will turn it on after you restart.

I appreciate these details @user_s9pc8k! We have a dedicated article that helps with devices that are unable to connect to the 5 and 6 GHz. Please go into the printer’s settings to forget the WiFi network.

Then follow these steps here that go over how to disable to 5 GHz.

With the 5 GHz band disabled, the printer may be able to connect to the 2.4 and stay connected with these steps here.

Once the printer is connected again, we can go back and enable the 5 GHz.

The printer can only see the 2.4Ghz but yes I did already try disabling the 5 & 6. Did not make a difference. Only thing that works consistently is my laptop hotspot connection. It's definitely a router/modem issue. Standing in front of the router so it should be the strongest network around. It's not...

Feel free ship my old XB3 back. It was only 600 Mbps but the "Faster" 2.5 Gbps XB8 is pointless if it doesn't connect.
