Recurring short internet drops and packet loss since late August, requesting a line check
I'm having recurring short internet drops and would like a ticket opened and the line checked.
Equipment: customer-owned Arris S33v2 connected directly to a UniFi UDM Pro router.
Outages and packet loss (all times Central):
- Aug 26: down at 8:03 PM and again at 8:06 PM, about 30 seconds each, with packet loss starting at 8:02 PM
- Aug 27: down at 12:06 AM
- Aug 28: packet loss and a brief disconnect at 8:41 AM
- Sep 20: packet loss at 3:52 PM, down at 3:54 PM
- High-latency alerts every 2-3 days since Aug 22, at random hours
Why I don't think it's inside my network: during the Sep 20 event my traffic was near zero in both directions and latency stayed flat at about 15 ms while packet loss spiked. That rules out congestion on my side. The drops are also too short to be the modem rebooting.
I can't read the signal levels myself. The modem answers ping at 192.168.100.1 but its status page times out, so I'm relying on what you can see from your end.
Could an official employee please:
1. Check upstream power, downstream SNR, and correctable/uncorrectable error counts on my modem
2. Check T3/T4 timeout counts and flap history around the times above
3. Check whether other modems on my node show the same pattern
4. Schedule a line technician if anything is out of spec. A remote modem reset won't address an intermittent signal problem.
I'm happy to send my name and service address by direct message.
