Reduced upload speeds after upgrading to 2Gbs download plan

My annual plan was set to increase so I opted to go to the 2Gbs download plan from my 1100/300 plan. I was assured by the CSR my 300 Mbs upload speeds would not be reduced. After the modem reboot, my speeds were reduced to 250Mbs. I went to the Xfinity office last night and they were not able to help. How can I get in contact with the right people to help? I got nowhere with the chat bots.

Hey, @user_ldl736 - Thanks for creating a post with your speed concerns. You've come to a great place for support! Our team is awesome to work with because we'll do everything we can to review and resolve things quickly, and it would be my pleasure to look further into this with you :) To start, have you run through as much basic troubleshooting as possible, including these Connection Troubleshooting Tips? That's a good place to begin, so let us know if you notice anything that can be adjusted on your end. Otherwise, we may need to take a closer look, which we're happy to do!

I contacted,

Tom Karinshak

President, Customer Experience & Strategy Operations at Comcast

https://www.xfinity.com/learn/customer-care

I got a response back from Ricky and escalation specialist whom I had a few conversations with. In the end this did not get resolved. At some point when I was on the previous plans Xfinity updated my area for better speeds. I was given increases in download and uploads up to 300 mbs upload. Unfortunately whoever does these plans does not incorporate them into the new offerings. The max on my plan is 250. I was not able to see that when logged in and looking at the new plans. The only way I could show it was not logging in on the full desktop site and saying I was moving to the address. Once you expand the plan details you see the upload speeds. Every year I have to go through the dance of having Xfinity raise my prices for my existing plan so I hunt for a new plan. I had an open chat going for a day and 3 different techs promised a lot but nothing ever got done. I reported that to Ricky. At this point I am stuck where I am at but Ricky did offer a token.

Xfinity needs to clean up their act and show clear messaging about what the plans are without having to expand or click anywhere.

If they are going to go through the trouble of upgrading neighborhoods for better speeds then incorporate those into the plans. I had 300 for less money than I am paying now so it is of now loss to give me that speed or better.

Clean up your support team. 3 people promised to restore my speed with a boot file. One even allegedly checked with a supervisor and got 400 upload approved. All said within 1-2 hours I would see the change. That never happened. According to corporate they cannot change the plan speeds. I have been in support for years and would have long been fired if I lied to customers like they did.  Don't penalize your long time customers with constant rate increases while offering new customers low rate introductory offers. Be clear about your paperless discount. It is now requires direct access to a bank account. I have been taking advantage of the Paperless with CC for a long time and now you still offer that but only with direct bank transfers.

I want he best internet experience I can get for the least cost. I don't want any of the other offerings like TV, Peacock, or Verizon Phone service. I would go to Verizon if I wanted their Cell service. Xfinity does give me reliable consistent service. I have experienced that over the years. Little downtime and consistent speeds. Maybe someone will bump me back up like before with a upload increase on the existing or other new plan.
