Riot/Valorant servers that turned out to be a routing or peering problem on Comcast’s backbone

There are documented cases of Xfinity having exactly 10-second latency/packet spikes specifically to Riot/Valorant servers that turned out to be a routing or peering problem on Comcast’s backbone (one well-known example was tied to a node in the Independence, MO area). Riot support even confirmed it was on Comcast’s side in some of those reports.

A clean, repeating 10-second pattern can sometimes come from:

  • A congested or flapping peering link
  • A specific route that is being load-balanced or re-evaluated on a timer
  • An intermediate hop that is dropping or delaying UDP traffic in a cyclic way

Three years now with no solution. 222 dollars a month is what I pay. For a non working internet service.
