Hi there! Great question, we can definitely help with that.

If you’re using a Xfinity gateway, router settings are now managed through the Xfinity app instead of the traditional admin page. Just open the app, sign in, and go to the Wi-Fi section to view or change your network name, password, and other settings.

If you’re trying to access it the old way by typing 10.0.0.1 into a browser, you may see a message directing you to the app. That’s expected with newer updates.

If you’re using your own router instead of a Xfinity gateway, then you would still access settings through its specific admin page.

If you’re not sure which setup you have or can’t find what you’re looking for, let us know, and we’ll walk through it with you.

I got a new Wifi Gateway and changed my password to the admin tool for the specific Gateway.  Now I cannot find how I can change the username and password since I messed it up the first time.  Not knowing those keeps you from changing them.

Also, I have devices that use 2.4 ghz.  Is the newest Xfinity Gateway and the Wifi Pro Extender able to also broadcast 2.4ghz?

Thank you!

Good morning @user_3ioo87, and thanks for reaching out to us on the Xfinity forums, I hope this message finds you well. I am sorry to hear that you are having issues with the admin tool, but you have come to the right place for assistance with this issue. If you need to have the password for the admin tool reset, the only way to do that is to do a factory reset on the gateway. Yes, the gateway and Pro WiFi extender do you 2.4GHz, the gateway by default has both the 2.4 and 5GHz as one network and the modem uses band steering to connect devices to the best network.
