You can use the Xfinity app to run a whole home network test. This process will test the speed to your gateway to make sure your home is receiving the proper speeds. Now you can also run a speed test to your devices using the Xfinity Speed Test Webpage. If you're curous about the difference between speed to your gateway versus to speed to your devices the Test your speed to the gateway using the Xfinity app does a very good job of explaining.
speedtest.xfinity.com redirects to "https://www.xfinity.com/learn/internet-service/speed-test" with no way to test web based in browser. Is this permanent?

Please let the developer team know that many long time comcast users like me want to run the speed test in a browser not the xfinity app. I do not want to install a pc app to perform this task which was easy when the webpage provided a speed test for the device. Please put the old feature back on the xfinity speed test webpage.

I wish that was still available. However, I installed the Xfinity app on my Android phone and when I tap on the speed test this device it just takes me to the web page which says to test the speed in the app. I am in a vicious circle. I'm paying for 600MB download speeds and 3rd party sites are saying I'm at 1-1.5Mbps. I wanted to see what Xfinity claimed I was getting before reporting a problem. It is UNACCEPTABLE to not be able to run your speed test. Please post some sort of instructional text/video which explains exactly how to do the speed test (at the gateway) in the Xfinity app.

Similarly when there is a problem with the cable TV they prevent you from talking to a real person and always say there are two issues with your cable box. Is this fraudulent?
@user_vvc5wk Are you saying you are unable to run a test from any of the URLs listed below which I found in a Google search. Also, other than you mentioning you're on a MAC device, you haven't provided anymore information in order for any one to help you with suggestions. Your frustration has translated to anger and insults. Not a productive way to lead to a solution.

The Xfinity "app" test doesn't really tell you much. That URL just points to the app and gives users that button called "Test Internet Connect". But that test is really testing the connection of the gateway and Internet, not the PC(s) to the Internet. All the devices tested in the list are test within the network. The discussion here is users want to do a test from their PC(s) to the Internet. Which has to be done from the browser.

With a little bit of searching, I have found an easy way to do a speed test in the chrome browser.
In google chrome open up a tab at google.com
In the search field type
internet speed test
In the results you will see a disclosure that explains how the test is run.
Scroll down to the blue "Run Speed Test" button and click if you like the disclosure.
Ive run it successfully on two windows computers for download and upload stats.
