Storm Ready Devices issues after replacing gateway

I had to replace my gateway recently and now I cannot connect my storm ready device. I’ve spoken to TEN different agents and nobody seems to know the issue and most aren’t even sure what a storm ready device is so I’ve wasted many hours. One even sent out a technician since nothing was working and they were totally clueless and confused as to why they were asked to come out. The device still appears in my app, but it says it needs attention. I cannot remove the device from the app and I also cannot reactivate it because it says it is already activated. Has anyone else dealt with this issue? Do I need to just return the storm ready device? There was a storm and the power went out but it was totally useless.

An update:

Another storm, another useless storm ready device. We also just received a bill for the expert that was sent to fix the storm ready device and left because he had no idea what to do as a professional installation charge.
