Throttling...

I've been having internet issues for about a month now. These internet issues are presenting a LOT like I'm being throttled. I've had 3 different techs come out and all of the replaced my modem and basically say they can't do anything.

I am a content creator on twitch and I REQUIRE a stable connection. However, for the past month, every single day I stream, my download goes to about 40% and my upload goes to about 5% of what I pay for. This makes my stream lag and eventually disconnect.

This problem only happens on the days I stream and not on the days I don't. I pay for 800 down/20 up (recently upped this but hasn't taken effect yet). I do speed tests from the modem and from multiple devices. All devices on the network are effected. No interventions from online chat agents or in person techs have helped.

The times I notice the issues always happen around 9-10pm PST and last about an hour. This has severely hindered my job as a content creator. I need help. I need someone actually qualified to fix this issue.

Hey @Kourra, Thank you for visiting our official Xfinity Forums Community support page. We greatly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience regarding the Xfinity Internet service. I would be more than happy to offer my assistance looking into this further for you.

With an intermittent connection issue, there are a few things we would want to check. Could you verify that all the coax cable connections are screwed tightly to the ports. We would also want to ensure the coax cables are in good condition such as no hard bends, kinks, bite marks, or cuts that could interfere with the signal reaching to the device.

Do you happen to have our handy Xfinity App on your mobile device? Using the Xfinity Assistant and testing tools, you can check the status of the account, modem, and services to see if it is able to detect issues at the time you are experiencing the degraded services.
