Transitioning from Apple Airport Extreme to Xfinity mesh system question.

I currently use an Apple Airport Extreme, with 2 Airport Expresses in an 1815 house with horsehair walls, so coverage is difficult. As Apple no longer makes or supports the Extreme, I'm thinking about updating to an Xfinity mesh system. My Xfinity router is configured to work with the Airport Extreme, and I'm wondering if I purchased a mesh system from them if I would need to change the configuration, or have a tech come in to do it for me.

user_xl7p5j Thanks for posting on our Community Forums. Our xFi pods are very easy to install and activate through the Xfinity app. Once paired, it will help extend the WiFi signal throughout your home without needing to change any configurations or settings.

Thanks for getting back to me. As I mentioned, my modem is configured to handle an Airport Extreme base unit. Would that configuration work with the Xfinity mesh base unit, or would I have to have a tech come out and set it up again?

Wouldn't the Airport Extreme just act like a router? I would think the only adjustment that needs to be made is to disable Bridge Mode, so your modem can act as the router instead and provide the WiFi network to connect your devices and pods to. That can easily be done through the steps in this link to change the setting quickly.
