See https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/list-of-blocked-ports. Note that the ports you are asking about are NOT on that list.

Hey @user_dh85ap , Thank you for visiting our official Xfinity Forums Community support page. We greatly appreciate you taking the time to reach out about opening ports. I would be more than happy to offer my assistance looking into this further for you. Are you looking for assistance with port forwarding or general information about these 2 particular ports? Can please provide a little more information as to what you are looking to do?

WELL I AM A HAM RADIO OPERATOR. WE HAVE A PROGRAM LIKE VOIP. THE 2 PORTS 5198 AND 5199 ARE BLOCKING ME FROM MY ROUTER TO CONNECT TO THE VOIP SERVER.

I AM USING ONE OF YOUR ROUTERS. WHAT IS THE STRING OF NUMBERS THAN ACCESS THE SETTINGS OF THE ROUTER. I THINK THE ROUTER IS A MOTOROLA.

Appreciate the details on this Dave! I have a neighbor that does ham radio. Always interesting to talk with him about it. Here is how to open those ports on an xFi Gateway:
  • Open the Xfinity App on your mobile device and sign in with your Xfinity ID.
  • Tap the WiFi tab at the bottom.
  • Select View WiFi equipment.
  • Select Advanced settings.
  • Select Port forwarding.
  • Select Add Port Forward.
  • Choose the specific computer or radio device from your list of connected devices.
  • Choose Manual Setup to enter the ports:
    • Port or Port Range: 5198-5199 (or add them individually if required).
    • Protocol: Select UDP (or BOTH / UDP preferred for EchoLink/VoIP applications).
  • Select Apply Changes to save.
