upgraded gateway, but can’t see network

So, I just finished a long post only to have this site delete it because it had to refresh.  

Keeping this one short.  

I upgraded my gateway. I kept the same network name and password, but none of my devices can see the network.

 I rebooted the gateway, but that didn’t help.  I spent an hour on Xfinity’s site and only went in circles and nowhere useful. I have never understood how an ISP can have such a TERRIBLE website.

Howdy! user_3f4c9d Appreciate you reaching out. Reset the gateway to a new SSID, and then repair the devices to the Wi-Fi. Even with the same SSID, the network backbone which is the gateway is now different. That would be if two people that have the exact same name. Let's say I met one of those people in the past, and if the other person that has the same name walks up and introduces themselves with that same name, I would not recognize them as the same person. The difference is that your devices cannot ask clarifying questions. There needs to be a distinct difference. Unfortunately, there is no way to avoid changing the SSID in this situation.
