Upload at 40 Mbps with Gigabit X2 and Arris S34

A month or two ago, I noticed that the services page claimed that my upload speed was 200.  I was on the Gigabit Extra plan at the time. When doing speed testing I still would only get around 40 for upload.  However my modem at the time was a Motorola MB8600.  This modem is not on the Next Gen Speed Tier list.  So I picked out a new modem, and waited for the Arris S34 to be available for purchase.  I have switched to the Arris S34, and upon activation, the services page claimed my upload speed was 35.  I waited a few days, and did not notice any changes in speed. 

Next, I looked at changing plans.  I first looked at the 1000Mbps plan.  The initial page stated it would have a 100Mbps upload speed.  I went through most of the ordering steps, and when the page for confirmation came up, it had the upload speed as 20Mbps.  I did not want to go slower, so I backed up, and then picked the X2 plan.  That one listed either 200 or 300 for upload speed (I don't remember) and was consistent at the final confirmation page.  I confirmed, and my modem rebooted.  The services page says that I have an upload speed of 300Mbps.

I speed tested and I still have a 40Mbps upload speed.  I have rebooted the modem multiple times.  I have waited several days since switching plans.  I don't have a problem with download speeds, although at the moment I don't have the equipment to test anything higher than a single gigabit.  On suggestion from phone tech support, I have replaced Ethernet cables.   That did not change anything (I wasn't really expecting it to either).

I don't know if this is connected or not, but the OFDM channel gets lots of errors.  The stats are after just a couple hours.

The speeds have been fixed by an internal ticket and several modem resets and restarts.  The modem still indicates many OFDM errors, but that does not seem to impact speeds.  I am now getting X2 speeds, so I am happy.

Now that it has been a month, everything still seems to be working fine.
