UPnP Xfi

So now everything has to be done from a phone.  When I put in my router address it says 'easier than ever to manage equipment'.  And gives me no options to do anything any more.  Easier than ever? It is not.  Not even close. How do I turn on UPnP from my phone app?

Hi there, @user_nf1y3h Thank you for reaching out! I do apologize for the inconvenience you are having trying to turn on UpNp from the Xfinity APP. Since it's been a few days, since you last posted are you still having trouble?-Richard

UPnP can almost always be worked around.  Commercial grade WiFi gear doesn't support it.  It's regarded as a security risk.  Can't have random customers/visitors/etc. walking into your office/shop/etc., pushing a button and getting on your network.  I run commercial grade WiFi access points at home and have yet to encounter a device I wasn't able to connect without needing UPnP.  Generally there's some sort of app you can use to configure the device unless it has a built-in display.  My Nest Thermostat just lets you dial in the WiFi password.  TV/streaming stuff you just plug in and use the remote.  My weather station needs a phone app - you put it in setup mode and it acts like a WiFi AP/router, then you just connect your phone to it's "network".  It's not really a network - all you can do while connected is set up the weather station, but it's just hold a button, connect like it's a WiFi network, and open the app.  Then a lot of printers can be configured over a USB cable.  You just plug them into a computer temporarily to set up the WiFi.

My Plex server stops working outside of my home when that is disabled.
