using the xfinity NOW service, how do i change wifi passwords

I have the xfinity NOW internet service. How do I change my wifi passwords on this service. When I look at the wifi details on the xfinity app, there is no option to edit or change the settings.

I tried calling the 800 service phone number. The automated options asked if I wanted to use the automated chat service. When I declined I was disconnected.

When I tried the automated chat, the bot was completely unhelpful and I could not get a real person to take over the chat.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

Hello, @user_pbr21 are you able to access your account information in the Xfinity App? Follow these directions:

To update your WiFi password in the Xfinity app, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Xfinity app and go to the WiFi tab.
  2. Select your network.
  3. Choose Edit WiFi Settings.
  4. Enter your new password and save the changes.

If you have activated Xfinity WiFi Extenders, ensure that your network settings meet the requirements, such as having a password-protected WiFi security mode and a single network name for both 2.4 and 5 GHz networks.

For more details, visit the Xfinity support page.

Thank you for your reply. When I opened the Xfinity app and select Wi-Fi, I do not have the option to select a network or edit Wi-Fi. I am using the NOW Service. I don’t know if this changes the way the Wi-Fi password is set.

@user_pbr21, I apologize about the confusion, as it turns out the network name and password on the NOW Internet service cannot be changed. You can reference our article NOW Internet FAQs for that and other useful NOW Internet service information.

I have changed the password before, so there must be a way to change it again. I believe I had to call Xfinity and speak to a person, but I can’t figure out how in the world to do that now I keep getting a bot that hangs up on me. The password I’m using now is not safe that needs to be changed.

The FAQ you sent is wrong. In the past, I have been able to change but the gateway password, which I can do myself through Safari, and the Wi-Fi password which is I mentioned I believe required a call to Xfinity. I’m hoping you can look into this and find out how I do this because the current password is too easily guessed and it is not safe to continue using it
