Verizon kit at new address

My new address has a Verizon box connected to a Verizon router, can I just disconnect and plug in my Xfinity gateway I am taking with me from my current address?

Or do I need an engineer?

No. Verizon is a fiber-optic service. You need a tech out to install the Comcast cable service.

Hi there @user_nhk86c Thank you so much for reaching out.  I'll be happy to assist. Have you already requested a service transfer to your new address?

I have not yet requested. I spoke to Customer Service earlier today. I am on a bulk contract via my HOA, CA advised me to call the Bulk Dept in the morning or the transfer, or day before. They also said I can just pick up my Gateway and plug it in at the new location.

It sounds as though Verizon might be connected at the address and a tech may be needed. We'd be more than happy to take a look to confirm! Please send us a direct message with your full name, your previous service address, and the address you're moving to, and we'll get started!

How to Send Us a Direct Message:

  1. Click "Sign In" if necessary.
  2. Click the "Direct Messaging" icon.
  3. Click the "Start new conversation" (pencil and paper) icon.
  4. In the "To:" line, type "Xfinity Support".
  5. As you type, a drop-down list will appear. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list.
  6. A "Xfinity Support" graphic will replace the "To:" line.
  7. Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window.
  8. Press Enter to send it.
